Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience. 8 years of experience in an applied research setting or similar. Preferred qualifications: Master's degree or PhD in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology, or related field. 8 years of experience conducting UX research on products. 7 years of experience working with executive leadership (e.g., Director level and above). 5 years of experience managing projects and working in a large, matrixed organization. Google’s UX team comprises multidisciplinary members who gather insights about user behaviors, attitudes, and emotions to inspire and inform design. We collaborate closely with engineering and product management to create industry-leading products that deliver value for users and Google's business. As a UXR, you'll help teams understand user needs through primary research methods such as field studies, interviews, diary studies, ethnography, surveys, usability testing, and logs analysis. You'll work with stakeholders across functions, impacting all stages of product development to create useful, usable, and delightful products. The UXR community at Google offers opportunities for mentorship, collaboration, and access to internal research tools. Our projects include: YouTube Ads, powering the YouTube ecosystem by keeping it engaging and responsible; Google Ads, building advertising products across search, display, shopping, travel, and video to connect users, publishers, advertisers, and Google. Our goal is to create trusted experiences and support businesses of all sizes with effective tools that deliver measurable results. Compensation: US base salary range for this full-time position is $178,000-$265,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Salary ranges are role, level, and location-dependent.
