Job description: We have a 12 month contract opportunity for a SR SRE with 3-5+ years of experience in Python, Gitlab, AWS and Dynatrace/Splunk. 100% Remote.Must have requirements:
- Bachelors in It or related field
- SRE experience (3-5+ years)
- AWS
- (3-5 yrs) Infrastructure support - understanding the nomenclature of infrastructure and how data flows.
- (3-5 yrs) Python language
- (3-5 yrs) Gitlab or similar platforms
- (3-5 yrs) Observability, monitoring and alerting tools like Dynatrace, Splunk and PagerDuty
Nice to Haves:
- AWS Practitioner
- Aws Operations
- Artificial Intelligence & Language Learning Models - Need to have basic understanding.
Performance Indicators:
- Participate in on-call rotations
- Accept and close out stories in both a Sprint as well as Kanban board within a timely fashion
- Participate in mandatory team meetings including staff and code reviews/tech talks
- Be present at all times in their job

- Resource will work on minor projects and overall feature and enhancement work connected to overall observability and monitoring of the Prime platform
- Support Prime developers through CI/CD pipelines and various automation capabilities
- Follow standard SRE practices of Observability, Platform, and Developer
- Support teams involved with Ground to Cloud AWS migration for the Prime platform
- Participate in on-call rotation including off-hours and holidays
- Resource will interact with Prime Production Support, other SRE Teams, AppDev Teams (e.g., network, security, database, etc….)

On this team, SREs will have the ability to observe the infrastructure landscape and determine where improvements can be made through advanced AI models, automation or other creative solutions.The Business-Aligned Delivery SRE team (BAD SRE) is responsible for the following activities for several applications/tools:
- resiliency/reliability
- observability/monitoring
- cybersecurity compliance
- DevOps/automation/AI
- AWS and Cloud Operations
- On-call Rotation and Deployment Support
When selecting candidates for this position, please ensure he or she is versed in AI Language Learning Models and AWS operations. It is not required that this be their primary focus, but they should have a background in these areas.
The BAD SRE team will be focusing on the following initiatives:
- AWS - Ground to Cloud migration and daily operation post migration
- Software Upgrades - Support the version upgrade to Pega Infinity
- Externalization of key functions such as Hazelcast and Kafka
- Disaster Recovery buildout
- Daytime Deployments via CICD pipelines

Position Purpose:
Helps lead projects that are focused on managing and maintaining optimum platform infrastructure performance, reliability, and security using SRE practices, observability tools, manual and automated procedures, documentation, people and processes and continuous delivery(CI/CD) tools, processes, and designs. Develops complex services to automate monitoring activities and provide critical information to facilitate response and resolution of performance and availability issues and incidents. Understands and advocates for standardized and scalable software tools to ensure that systems operate without interruption at optimum performance and leads project teams through out the deployment process. Troubleshoots and analyzes service disruptions to determine the root cause of issues and develop solutions for improved reliability.Education/Experience:
A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business field (e.g., statistics, mathematics, engineering, computer science).
Requires 4 - 6 years of related experience.Or equivalent experience acquired through accomplishments of applicable knowledge, duties, scope and skill reflective of the level of this position.Technical Skills:
