As the VP Marketing for the Academic, Publisher, and Government sectors, you will be responsible for ensuring a seamless execution of ongoing marketing strategies, leading a cross-functional team, and driving impactful outcomes. Your ability to quickly adapt, maintain momentum, and deliver against established goals will be key to the success of this 14-month fixed-term contract. You'll work across departments to align objectives, track performance, and manage a smooth transition at the end of the contract.Accountabilities:
- Execute and maintain the current segment-specific marketing strategy with minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Product, and Customer Success teams to ensure alignment across strategic goals.
- Drive growth and market share within the academic, publisher, and government sectors by supporting targeted campaigns.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a segment-focused marketing team to execute against established objectives.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), providing regular insights and reporting to leadership.
- Support a seamless handover at the conclusion of the contract, including clear documentation and transition planning.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of marketing experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Deep understanding of academic publishing, research funding ecosystems, and government engagement with scientific content.
- Proven ability to execute existing marketing strategies and manage large-scale initiatives.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills within cross-functional environments.
- Proficiency in tools like Salesforce, Pardot, Asana, and other campaign management platforms.
- Excellent documentation and multitasking capabilities for high-stakes project delivery.
- Remote-first flexibility (East Coast USA preferred)
