Job description: Additional education and experience in trade and industry related field preferred.Experience and knowledge of trade and apprenticeship process in Delaware.Previous leadership experience preferred.Willing to work a flexible schedule that may include days, evenings and weekends.Performance Responsibilities:Support the implementation of the adult Apprenticeship program including organization and oversight of all programs.Serve as main point of contact with local business and industry leaders to promote apprenticeship programs and identify job placement opportunities for students.Develop and negotiate contract for training services with community organizations and/or business and industry.Respond to business and industry leaders request for new programs and/or certification coursework.Produce reports for Delaware Department of Labor and other agencies as requested.Recruit instructors for evening adult education apprenticeship program.Supervise support staff and adult education instructors.Support the writing and management of all grant funding and purchasing for Apprenticeship programs.Identify new programs of study or areas of need within the community in the industrial trades area.Work closely with Sussex Technical High School administration and daytime teachers to share program space, equipment, and machinery.Represent Sussex Technical Adult Education at the Delaware Department of Labor and Delaware Department of Education meetings to develop apprenticeship and trade and industry programs.Support all duties of the Director of Adult Education.Coordinate public relations activities as related to CTE programs.Duties include some evening hour supervision and attendance at all evening special events.Other duties as assigned.Terms of Employment: Twelve (12) month full-time position.Salary and Benefits: Pension and benefit eligible position.
