Role SummaryThe role focuses on the development and release of Vehicle Controls for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). We are seeking a strong systems engineer with comprehensive knowledge of ADAS sensors, actuators, HW-SW architectures, vehicle motion controls, and vehicle simulation platforms.
Responsibilities
- Work cross functionally with OEM stakeholders to drive definition, development, and release of ADAS architecture focusing on motion control performance, safety and reliability
- Derive Functional Requirements and Attributes top-down for sub-systems, components (Electrical and Software) using first principles approach
- Author requirements and test-cases at sub-system and component level with traceability
- Interface with other technical domains to ensure proper requirements cascade and integration with various parallel stakeholders
- Support attribute verification and vehicle performance evaluation at various stages of development
- Author test scripts connecting Simulation models, test scenarios and support automation of result reports
- Own feature-level failure mode analysis, using DFMEA and/or STPA methods
- Contribute to Functional Safety work products compliant with ISO 26262 guidelines
- Develop a comprehensive DVP&R working with the development engineers to formulate, conduct, and capture validation tests at various levels (MIL, SIL, HIL, Component and Vehicle).
- Lead trouble-shooting issues with exceptional sense of quality and in-depth root cause analyses.
- Perform Worst Case Analysis at system level using first principles with Simulations and MBSE.
- Master’s degree or higher in electrical/mechanical/automotive/controls engineering or equivalent
- 5+ years of systems engineering experience with a focus on ADAS or Autonomous vehicles
- Expertise in either SW Controls or Gen-AI tooling
- Experience with ADAS Simulators (CARLA or proprietary tools) while integrating motion controls
- Experience with validation efforts at different test levels (MIL, SIL, HIL, Component, Vehicle)
- Experience performing DFMEA and /or STPA.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment.
- Understanding processes applied to safety critical automotive systems (ISO 26262)
- Good team player with great communication skills: ability to explain complex topics in a simplified manner.
- Excellent cause and effect analysis skills.
- Strong self-motivation: demonstrated ability to work towards objectives with little direction.
- Requirement management tool experience (such as DOORS or Jama).
- Competency with: Python / C / Git
- Experienced with Vector CAN tools
