Delta Star also provides comprehensive engineering, testing, maintenance services, and parts for any transformer manufacturer through our Field Service business unit, ensuring our customer's transformers and mobiles maintain peak performance.PurposeAs our Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator - Field Service, you'll serve as a critical advisor and leader for all EHS activities within our Field Service operations. You'll ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, support our technicians with on-site safety, and champion best-in-class safety practices across the business.You'll also lead audits, oversee risk assessments at customer sites, and play a key role in change management and continuous improvement efforts. This role reports directly to the General Manager of Field Service, with functional guidance from the Corporate EHS Manager.Responsibilities & Duties
- Serve as the primary EHS point of contact for field service staff and external partners.
- Conduct site visits and field audits to ensure compliance with Delta Star's safety standards and applicable regulations.
- Lead risk assessments before and during field service projects.
- Manage incident response plans, emergency procedures, and employee safety training.
- Administer the Workers' Compensation program and track lost-time injuries.
- Participate in OSHA inspections and maintain compliance documentation.
- Maintain SDS sheets and oversee hazardous materials safety procedures.
- Prepare and submit required safety and environmental reports, including permits and impact statements.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies and advocate for Delta Star during permit negotiations.
- Support and lead improvement programs like 5S, safety meetings, and EHS handbook updates.
- Partner with corporate and regional EHS staff to align and enhance company-wide safety initiatives.
- Oversee DOT and fleet-related safety activities as needed.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Health & Safety / Environmental; Industrial Management; Engineering; Business or a related field. Alternatively, a special combination of education, experience, and/or demonstrated accomplishments can be evaluated and accepted at the discretion of Delta Star.
- 5+ years of experience in the EHS industry. Preferably in a construction/substation/transformer field service environment.
- Training, knowledge, or certification in NFPA70E, OSHA 10/30, Electrical Safety Hazards, Confined Space, Confined Space Rescue, First Aid, Blood Borne Pathogens, and AED/CPR. (Trainer credentials preferred) Willingness to obtain by agreed upon timeline.
- Knowledge and advanced understanding of DOT & DOL laws and regulations, HAZMAT, SPCC, and/or EPA guidelines/regulations.
- CSHM, CSP and/or CHMM certifications a plus.
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to influence and lead through change.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Collaborative team player with a hands-on, proactive approach.
- Willingness to travel up to 20-50% of the time or based on business need.
- Preferred work location is Delta Star's Field Service satellite in Oklahoma City, OK. However, remote home-based candidates will also be considered.
- Support industry events and Delta Star quarterly/annual events as required.
- Must have a stable internet connection and cellular service at candidates' home-base to conduct normal business operations when not visiting customer sites or service centers. (Email, connect remotely to Delta Star systems through VPN, etc.)
- Must have a clean driving record
