Growing together.The Clinical Excellence Quality (CEQ) Pharmacy Operations team supports Optum’s Care Delivery Organizations by delivering patient-centered, clinically collaborative medication consultations to help people live healthier lives. Our team focuses on the design, execution, and delivery of telephonic and digital engagement strategies designed to close Medicare star measure gaps in care. Our interdisciplinary service delivery team is comprised of Pharmacists, Registered Nurses (RNs), Pharmacy Technicians, and Care Coordinators.The Supervisor Pharmacy Care Coordinator will provide dedicated support to the CEQ Pharmacy Operations Team. This position will be responsible for supervising and managing 10+ non-clinical staff who will provide administrative support for member-facing clinical staff. The Supervisor Pharmacy Care will ensure their team meets all production and quality metrics, as well as follows the appropriate workflows and processes. The team under the Supervisor will provide support to the pharmacy staff (both clinical and non-clinical) to ensure applicable program processes and operational responsibilities are met.You will enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities:
  • Accountability for the direct management and business operational functions of a 10+ non-clinical staff who provide administrative support of clinical staff
  • Assist leaders with new development and continuous improvement of standard operating procedures inclusive of process flows, issues logs, auditing programs
  • Provide ongoing coaching and training to team members to enhance their skills and performance
  • Conduct regular performance reviews to evaluate employee progress and identify areas for improvement
  • Foster a positive and motivating work environment to encourage team engagement and productivity
  • Track and update effective metrics and reporting dashboards, in partnership with clinical pharmacy and analytics/reporting leadership
  • Set performance goals for staff, aligned with company objectives, and track progress
  • Assist upper management in planning, coordination, and project management for the implementation of new call center programs and platforms
  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement call center strategies and initiatives
  • Identifies and resolves operational problems using defined processes, expertise and judgment
  • Decisions are guided by policies, procedures and business plans
  • Hires and ensures proper training and onboarding
  • Identify areas of improvement where systems modifications could result in operational advancements and efficiencies
  • Identifies problems and develops solutions to non-standard requests and problems
  • Works with minimal guidance; seeks guidance on only the most complex tasks
  • Provides explanations and information to others on difficult issues
  • May serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for other Pharmacy Care Coordinators on the Clinical Pharmacy Team
  • Acts as a resource for others with less experience
  • Other duties as assigned

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 2+ years of Pharmacy or medical office experience
  • 2+ years of administrative support experience with an additional 1-2 years of experience in a customer service environment
  • 1+ years of supervisory or team lead experience
  • Ability to work any 8-hour shift between the hours of 9:00am-6:00pm CST, Monday through Friday
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree
  • National Technician Certification (PTCB)
  • 2+ year of Management/Supervisory experience with direct reports
  • Current and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician License
  • PBM and /or Managed Care experience
  • Experience and knowledge of Hedis Star measures
  • Medical terminology knowledge base
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
Soft Skills:
  • Excellent organizational skills, customer service skills, and verbal and written communication skills to include but not limited to patients, physicians, clinical staff, contracted providers and managers
  • High degree of professionalism including both personal conduct and appearance
  • Ability to work independently, as well as a member of a team, with some supervision and direction from the manager
  • Must always maintain strict confidentiality to include but not limited to patients and coworkers
  • Comfortable working in a rapidly changing and highly matrixed environment
  • Ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
