Monroe St.) or RemoteRole DescriptionThe Manager, Payer Partnerships and Contracting will immediately become an important leader on the Oak Street Health team. The ideal candidate will have strong relationship skills, be self-directed, and enjoy working with a team in a fast-paced environment, while bringing their experience and innovative ideas. Highly successful candidates will have existing familiarity with managed care systems/processes and will have an expressed interest in managing a team as they continue career progression.Core Responsibilities:Serve as organizational lead in OSH relationships with at least two large health plans, including contracting, implementation, operations, and ongoing management of the partnershipsApproach health plan relationships with the mindset of a "business owner"Project-manage and own issues to resolutionDevelop opportunities as they ariseRelentlessly pursue opportunities to express the value that Oak Street delivers for health plan partnersProactively & professionally move contract negotiations forward, with strong understanding of key contract terms and the impact they have on Oak Street's financial and operational performanceDevelop deep understanding of OSH financial operations/workflows and their key intersection points with health plan processesAnalyze financial implications of existing and potential future health plan contracts, quantifying and communicating organizational risk to senior leadershipLead payer implementations independentlyCollaborate with other teams at OSH to drive strategic initiatives with payers and to resolve outstanding payer issuesProactively develop and share ideas for how to improve OSH workflowsLead conversations proactively and strategically with executives and field leadership on value-add activities and initiatives with payersSupport delegated activities as required (e.g. identification of business requirements for system implementation, oversight of vendor driven activities)Manage and develop Associates on the Managed Care Operations teamOther duties as assignedWhat we're looking forRequired qualifications include:Bachelor's degreeExcellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to be personable yet persistentExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills and impeccable business judgmentAbility to independently pursue and implement solutions to complex problemsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentProject management skillsPeople management skills and/or a history of managing direct reportsStrong MS Excel, Word, and Powerpoint skillsU.S. work authorizationSomeone who embodies being "Oaky"What does being "Oaky" look like?Radiating positive energyAssuming good intentionsCreating an unmatched patient experienceDriving clinical excellenceTaking ownership and delivering resultsBeing relentlessly determinedWhy Oak Street Health?Oak Street Health is on a mission to "Rebuild healthcare as it should be'', providing personalized primary care for older adults on Medicare, with the goal of keeping patients healthy and living life to the fullest. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.Our people fuel our future.
