Job description: Description :System Administrator – Microsoft 365 Suite FocusedJob Summary:The System Administrator’s role is to manage and tune in-house computer software systems and network connections to ensure high levels of availability and security of the supported business applications. This individual also participates in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure system provisioning and maintenance that is consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements. This role is specifically focused on M365 Suite.Essential Job Duties:
  • Participate in and support capacity planning and the development of long-term strategic goals for systems and software in conjunction with end-users and department managers.
  • Responsible for the support of Windows server applications, systems and network environments.
  • Experience with running and maintaining scripting, i.e PowerShell.
  • Responsible for OS patching/upgrades; Software installs/upgrades, and Channels and Builds.
  • Perform and Review system backup procedures around M365 Suite, and other recovery processes in accordance with the company’s retention, disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
  • Integrate servers, including database, e-mail, print, and backup servers and their associated software into enterprise systems.
  • Working knowledge of the skills required to provision, manage, monitor, and decommission onprem/cloud services for Infrastructure.
  • Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records.
  • Actively contribute to ongoing projects in the I.T.
  • Administer and manage Active Directory, Azure AD, Group Policy, Intune, Exchange online, M365, Win10/11, Azure Infrastructure, Key Vault, Virtual Machines, Replication, Storage Accounts, Enterprise Application and Application Registration.
  • Prioritize the ongoing changes with M365, Outlook, Word, Excel, OneDrive, Copilot Chat, PowerPoint, SharePoint Online, Teams, Forms, Planner, Bookings, Project, Visio, Whiteboard, etc.
  • Prepare Communications of changes to end users, documentation for reference with Knowledge Articles for end user and IT users.
  • Microsoft 365 Administrator plays an essential role in ensuring that an organization’s Microsoft 365 suite is configured, maintained, and optimized to meet the evolving needs of the business and its users.
  • This position involves a blend of technical acumen and customer service, as the administrator is responsible for overseeing the user experience, ensuring seamless access to tools and applications, and addressing any issues that arise within the platform.
  • Implement and manage Microsoft 365 compliance features, eDiscovery, and retention policies to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Administer SharePoint Online, configuration and management, to facilitate collaboration and document management across the organization.
  • Oversee the deployment and management of Microsoft Teams, including team creation, policy configuration, and integration with other Microsoft 365 services to enhance internal communication and collaboration.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot Microsoft 365 services and connectivity issues, using tools like the Microsoft 365 admin center and PowerShell scripts to ensure optimal performance and user satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for the integration of third-party services and applications with the Microsoft 365 environment, ensuring seamless interoperability and enhancing the platform’s capabilities.
  • Manage communications and connection solutions, including workstation connectivity, local area networks, company Web site, intranet, and Internet applications.
  • Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software problems on workstations/end users in mass might encounter. Escalate incidents as necessary.
  • Support application development teams throughout project lifecycles.
  • Analyze system, server, application, network, and input/output device performance.
  • Recommend, schedule, and perform software and hardware improvements, upgrades, patches, reconfigurations, and/or purchases.
  • Collaborates with Managed Services on Windows and 3rd Party patches.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Relevant coursework includes network administration, computer systems, cloud computing, and cybersecurity. Majors in these areas equip candidates with the necessary technical skills and understanding of IT infrastructure, crucial for managing and configuring Microsoft 365 services effectively.
Experience:
  • Microsoft 365 Administrators typically possess extensive experience in managing and configuring Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, etc.
  • On-the-job training and participation in advanced training programs are common, enhancing their skills in system migrations, security protocols, and user support.
