Job Summary:
  • The end-client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Red Hat Linux Administrator Consultant to manage and optimize Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments.
  • The role demands deep technical expertise in Linux systems administration, automation, and enterprise-level infrastructure support.
  • This consultant will support application deployments, monitor system health, and ensure high availability, security, and performance of systems supporting critical judicial functions.
Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers across dev/test/prod environments.
  • Perform system upgrades, patching, and security hardening.
  • Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive solutions.
  • Automate system administration tasks using Ansible, Bash, or Python.
  • Administer Red Hat Satellite, Identity Management (IdM), and associated ecosystem tools.
  • Support enterprise applications such as Oracle WebLogic, PeopleSoft, ElasticSearch, and others.
  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards and participate in vulnerability remediation.
  • Manage backup, restore, and disaster recovery operations.
  • Create and maintain detailed system documentation and procedures.
  • Provide guidance and support to development and operations teams.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for incident resolution.
  • Configure and manage NFS shares and Cron jobs.
  • Respond on-site within 24 hours when required.
Must-Have Skills:
  • Advanced experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments.
  • Automation skills using Ansible, Bash, or Python.
  • Experience configuring and managing Red Hat Satellite and IdM.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills at the OS, application, and database levels.
  • Experience supporting 24/7 mission-critical environments.
  • Ability to configure load balancing, partitioning, backups, and DR solutions.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work in team settings.
Preferred Skills:
  • 10+ years of Red Hat Linux system administration experience.
  • 10+ years of experience administering AIX (IBM pSeries) systems.
  • 15+ years of experience in the IT industry.
  • Experience with:
  • Oracle WebLogic Servers
  • Oracle and Progress Databases
  • Apache Web Servers
  • vSphere-hosted RHEL systems
  • Rubrik backup systems
  • PeopleSoft, Mobius, Elastic Search, Oracle OBI, CVS
  • Experience in Red Hat performance tuning.
  • Background in application development and electronic imaging support.
Qualifications / Certifications Required:
  • Bachelor's or postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related IT field
  • (Note: Degrees such as MBA or Agricultural Economics are not considered related)
  • Valid Red Hat Certification:
  • Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA) OR
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
  • Certification ID must be verifiable
  • Red Hat certification (current or non-current accepted)
