Job description: Job DescriptionThe OpportunityThe School of Engineering invites applications for the position of Tenure Track Assistant Professor Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering. Successful candidate will teach in various school programs, tailored to their qualifications. This role includes developing courses that enrich both undergraduate and graduate programs, as well as mentoring students. We seek individuals who are passionate about teaching. Faculty members benefit from professional development support and should be eager to deliver high-quality online courses. The Rothwell Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence supports our global campus.Candidates should have a background in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.Successful applicants are expected to maintain a robust research profile. Preferred areas of expertise include aircraft design, propulsion, compressible aerodynamics, flight mechanics, and orbital mechanics. However, applicants in all areas will be considered.The candidate's service responsibilities may include contributing to student success through recruitment and retention initiatives, developing curriculum and programs, participating in departmental, college, and university committees, and engaging in external professional leadership and service.Please note that this is a fully remote online position and does not require relocation. All work must be performed within the United States and travel will be necessary at least twice a year to attend commencement ceremonies, mandatory school meetings, and other relevant events.About the School of Engineering in the College of AviationThe School of Engineering is part of the College of Aviation at the ERAU-WW campus. It offers a variety of programs, including an A.S. in Engineering Fundamentals, a B.S. in Engineering, a B.S. in Engineering Technology, and a B.S. in Software Engineering. The B.S. in Software Engineering launched in August 2024, while the other programs are ABET accredited. Additionally, the school offers an M.S. degree in Aerospace Engineering, Airworthiness Engineering, and Systems Engineering. We also offer certificates in Engineering Fundamentals, Airworthiness Engineering, and Systems Engineering. We recently started an Engineering certificate program with Airbus.  - Teaching experience in an online environment.

 - Past work experience in a national research lab and/or industry.
 - Evidence of research experience in educational pedagogy.
