Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.What you’ll do:The Aftermarket Business Manager (ABM) is a leadership position that advances the division aftermarket growth strategy and serves the Euclid, Grand Rapids, and Los Angeles sites as an aerospace aftermarket subject matter expert, with knowledge and direction on all aftermarket business related matters, such as, regulatory and product support agreement requirements and compliance, military and civil customer and market dynamics, MRO operations, and flow down of aerospace group and division strategies and associated initiatives. The ABM has two (2) primary functions aligned to FMC aftermarket growth, customer satisfaction and product line management which include:
- Leads and manages key aftermarket strategic programs, such as pillars of the division aftermarket growth strategy and complex customer programs, including the deployment and management of new business opportunities, power by hour agreement execution and supports repair station performance improvement initiatives.
- Responsibility for improving and sustaining aftermarket customer satisfaction by capturing voice of the customer, analyzing site performance against customer expectations, and driving corrective action plans in collaboration with site leadership when the site is underperforming to customer expectations.
- Defines and articulates program objectives across Group, Division and site leadership teams.
- Champions and/or leads Integrated Program Teams (IPT) across all Program phases.
- Utilizing Eaton Business Systems and program management tools, creates project plans and manages resources to achieve program deliverables. Directs overall organizational performance on the program, assuring that the “Triple Constraint” of Cost/Scope/Schedule is met and resources necessary to achieve this constraint are appropriately identified, secured and managed. Seeks team input to promote rapid resolution to issues. Coaches and provides feedback/rewards on performance indicators.
- Monitors & reports overall performance through metrics during all phases of the Program. Develops and implements corrective action & recovery plans as required.
- Leads IPT in identifying, quantifying, and mitigating risk. Uses risk identification, assessment and mitigation methodologies.
- Responsible for communicating Program status at appropriate level to relevant Stakeholders at Aerospace Group, divisional, and/or site leadership levels.
- Subject matter expert in aftermarket product support agreements and customer contract terms and conditions. Prioritizes and communicates customer requirements to the business and ensures the organization is responsive to customer needs at the division and site levels.
- Champions the site Aftermarket Business Operating System reviews. Supports preparation of the review material, including analyzing performance metrics and data to identify performance issues and to assign appropriate root cause and corrective action improvement plans.
- Monitors voice of customer (VOC) feedback systems. Initiates and supports rapid response activities and systemic issue solutions as required to meet or exceed overall customer expectations. Maintains strong engagement with site leadership teams to keep pulse of site issues and to accelerate improvements, including escalation as necessary through defined paths
- Serves as a business escalation point to address major customer issues when the customer is not satisfied with the site response or there is an FMC global issue. The ABM leads site IPTs to create, manage and monitor customer improvements plans, as required.
- Responsible for managing the development and reporting of requested OEM aftermarket performance improvement plan reviews.
- Promotes and supports deployment of standard aftermarket processes and metrics across the division to realize the benefits of running the business as an integrated operating company.
- Leads aftermarket issues with major OEM programs such as Airbus, Safran and Rolls Royce. Coordinating improvements across the FMC division to ensure aftermarket OEM programs improvements, escalation and issues are addressed.
- Supports regional customer performance reviews. Works across the division to collect customer metrics and associated performance improvement action plans. Assists with communicating plans to the customer and then monitors the execution through customer closure.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
- A minimum of 10 years of combined experience in Aerospace Program Management, Aftermarket, Engineering, and/or New Product Development.
- Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
- This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Grand Rapids, MI or Los Angeles, CA or Euclid, OH will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
- Masters in business from an accredited institution preferred
- Prior experience in Aerospace Aftermarket programs
- Project Management Institute (PMI) accreditation (PMP) highly preferred
- Proficient in Program and Project Management methodologies, processes and tools
- Experience in Risk Management
- Broad knowledge of the Aerospace industry and aerospace aftermarket
- Strong commitment to Eaton ethics and values
- Proven leadership skills - capability to lead an Integrated Team (IPT) environment across multiple sites globally and managing an international customer
- Ability to manage multiple projects/activities using Eaton and industry project management tools and processes; results driven.
- Knowledge of aerospace related products, regulatory requirements, and MRO processes
- Process oriented and ability contribute to continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; both verbal and written with ability to make necessary status reports and presentations to Eaton and customer senior leadership.
- Ability to interface at all levels and the ability to influence others’ decision making.
- Strong analytical skills and business acumen
- History managing customer relationship and navigating complex customer issues
