Job description: Title: Lead Specialist, Logistics AdministrationProgram SummaryPrograms supported will be across the EWS Operating Unit with each having Logistics personnel managing shipping and receiving, warehouse, and inventory management/control at the specific location. Logistics operations are a support function, specifically support will be provided to the operations of Manufacturing, Engineering, Sustainment, Maintenance, Range Modernization, and Depot operations within EWS..Job SummaryThe Lead Specialist, Logistics Administration will oversee and manage Logistics operations within the Operating Unit. They will work closely, and collaborate, with Engineering, Manufacturing, Depot operations, and Program operations. The Lead Specialist will be the authority on all aspects of Logistics and provide direction to staff located locally and remoteKey responsibilities include the development and enforcement of work standards, management of manufacturing/shipping schedules, resolution of work discrepancies, supervision of logistics personnel, and the effective communication of organizational policies, objectives, and goals to subordinate staff. The Lead Specialist will be accountable for the overall performance of the Logistics group where metrics will be collected and analyzed for the purpose of continuous improvement.The Lead Specialist, Logistics Administration will participate and lead continuous improvement activities and initiatives. Each site, while different in how they support, will remain common to business policies and procedures. The Lead Specialist will drive commonality and validate adherence through self-audits and customer feedback.Roles and Responsibilities· Analyzes and implements logistics plans that may affect the production, distribution, and inventory or finished products in order to enhance product flow.· Analyzes, participates in the development, and implements logistics plans affecting the production, distribution, and inventory of finished products.· Conducts distribution and network studies, monitors inventory and analyzes requirements in order to develop strategies to achieve desired delivery times and order fill rates.· Maintains appropriate records and prepares reports.· Coordinates logistics activities with internal/external customers.· Oversees the completion of projects including planning; assigning, monitoring and reviewing progress and accuracy of work; evaluating results, etc.· Strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), compliance, and Safety policies and procedures· Provides activity and status reports to management.· Supervises lower-level employees.· Performs all other duties as assigned.Basic Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in Business Administration, engineering, sciences, or related field and 8 years of experience.
- 4 years of specialized military experience in the relative field can be substituted for a BA/BS degree In lieu of formal education, at least 16 years of progressive experience in a related field.
- Must have the ability to receive a Top Secret (TS) clearance
- Operational experience with Materials Resource Planning (MRP) Tools
- Operational experience with Lean Manufacturing and 6S principles
- Theoretical and practical logistics operations management knowledge
- Experience with working in and managing dynamic and demanding programs
- Experience with assisting in engineering development, design, production and sustainment efforts
- Experience in a fast-paced environment
- Operational experience with conducting physical/cycle counts and setting up cycle counts
- Proven leadership skills
- Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time
- 8 years' experience in a manufacturing environment, with 5 years being in a supervisory role
Expected salary: $92000 - 115000 per year
