Our program offers courses throughout the year in three terms (Fall, Spring, and Summer) with 8 and 16 week courses.Classes are fully remote. Some classes are offered synchronously (on zoom, cameras on with live interaction with students). Other classes are offered asynchronously (no specific meeting time or zoom interactions). Synchronous classes will be held one day a week (Mondays - Thursdays). The class times are 4:00-6:45pm and 7:15-9:30pm PST.Salary:

PLNU adjunct pay: Using a 3-unit full semester appointment as a pay guide, the adjunct pay range is $4,860 - $6,480. The units will determine the actual salary.Job Status: Part time***Job Description:PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESFacilitate class instruction for a graduate-level course according to department standards.GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIESDevelop, deliver, and review course materials and syllabi.Evaluate student performance and provide substantive feedback on students' performance in class and assignments.Utilize the Canvas platform for assignments, grading, and course structure.Promote student learning through utilizing relational teaching practices including meeting with each student synchronously (i.e., individually or in small groups) at least once during the semester.Input Final Grades in Workday.Provide accommodation for students who require it according to PLNU Educational Access Center.Attend events and meetings as identified by the department.Report weekly hours worked in Workday.QUALIFICATIONSPh.D., Psy.D., DMFT, Ed.D. preferred; MA/MS accepted with evidence of specialized experience. Advanced degree in psychology or a closely related field.Since this is a program that meets academic requirements for licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist and/or a Licensed Professional Counselor, the applicant should be licensed and have relevant clinical experience.Commitment to teaching excellence is required. A minimum of one year of teaching experience in higher education is preferred. Online teaching experience preferred.Knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques appropriate to effective graduate-level teaching.Knowledge of ways to instruct, manage, motivate and evaluate students.Experience to draw upon their own clinical training and experience to augment their teaching in the classrooms.Ability to learn the Canvas / Workday online system for student grading.Ability to successfully interact with students, other educators, educational institution representatives, and the general public in a professional manner.A thorough commitment to the religious and educational goals of the university.Philosophical: Thorough commitment to the concept of Christian liberal arts education and a desire to work in a Christian university.
