Onsite/Remote:Onsite PositionNote: Relocation assistance is not provided.The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company's regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND.Your ResponsibilitiesAs an Embedded Software Engineer, for the John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group (ISG-Urbandale), you will develop C++ for applications utilizing perception software, machine learning, or advanced algorithms on John Deere vehicles. In addition, you will:
- Work with other Deere units to commercialize perception solutions on platforms.
- Accelerate application opportunities that require a mix of image processing & machine learning. This position will have a focus on C++ software development for applications and integration of the advanced algorithm into the application software that runs on embedded hardware.
- Assist in building and deploying data collection kits on machine in the field.
- Ideally you will be pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in an Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering; others may apply
- Experience programming in Embedded C software
- Must be registered as a full-time student at a local accredited university
- Graduation date of May 2026 or later
- Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher
- Available to work during the academic year 10-20 years a week
- Available to work during the summer full time (40 hours per week). Exceptions will be made for planned vacation.
- Must be able to commute to the work location on a daily basis
- Experience programming in C++ in Linux OS
- Excellent collaboration/communication skills (verbal, written, listening and presentation)
