We are a $200m ARR, highly profitable, SaaS company that needs a dynamic individual to drive financial literacy, rigor, and excellence throughout the company. This is a role where you will be expected to get your hands dirty and lead by example. We will need you to be a player-coach, though you will be inheriting an outstanding “#2” who has run FP&A at a smaller company. You’ll report to the CFO, who came up through the ranks of FP&A, so he knows what great looks like, and the bar will be high. We are looking for someone with thick skin who can get things done. If you don’t possess a sense of urgency, drive, and just-get-it-done-ness, this is the wrong role for you. - Lead the development and execution of financial strategies that align with the company's growth objectives
- Assist the CFO with strategic planning in order to build for the long term and lead Payscale to an outstanding financial exit
- Hire, develop, coach, mentor a high-performing team, ensuring best-in-class financial operations, data accuracy, forecasting capabilities, and actionable analyses
- Instill a culture of rigor, discipline, accuracy, consistency, and accountability, both in the FP&A org and across the entire business
- Drive operational improvements throughout all aspects of the business, across all three financial statements
- Provide leadership and support in evaluating and executing M&A opportunities, working with external stakeholders and advisors
- Optimize our financial reporting tool (currently Adaptive Insights) or recommend a new tool to take us through the next stage of our growth
- Engage in real, robust business partnering with departments outside of Finance to help drive efficiencies, best practices, and optimal risk taking
- Manage information flow with timely and accurate communications to and from stakeholders.
- Work with our Controller and Legal team to handle various other business and regulatory operations (insurance, state and federal reports, etc.).
- All of the traditional aspects of FP&A one would expect: budgeting, forecasting, reporting, variance anayses, Board meeting prep, etc.
- Multiple years of experience in a relevant environment is more important than any specific amount of time Relevant experience means SaaS/tech, PE or VC backed, and a high intensity environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. We do want to see steady progression in your career.
- Experience in a SaaS business model is a strong positive, but we are ultimately looking for talent and fit
- Strong understanding of SaaS business models, financial metrics, and growth drivers or the ability to get to that understanding very quickly
- Proven track record of success in financial leadership, strategic financial planning, and decision-making Experience in developing financial presentations and reports for C-suite executives, Board of Directors, and investors.
- Expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Highly analytical, with a keen eye for detail and a strategic mindset.
- We are a Microsoft shop. Please have excellent Excel skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- High-Speed Internet - A stable broadband or fiber connection (satellite is highly discouraged) with a minimum speed of 100 Mbps in a dedicated workspace that has a reliable Wi-Fi signal.
