- Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software engineers, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
- Project Management:
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software projects, ensuring they meet quality standards and deadlines
- Allocate resources effectively and manage project risks to ensure successful outcomes
- Technical Oversight:
- Provide technical guidance and support to the development team, ensuring best practices in coding, testing, and deployment
- Review and approve technical designs and architecture to ensure scalability and efficiency
- Strategic Planning:
- Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement of the mobile app platform
- Collaborate with product managers and other stakeholders to align engineering efforts with business goals
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure high standards of code quality and performance through rigorous testing and debugging processes
- Implement and maintain processes for managing technical debt and improving codebase health
- Customer Focus:
- Work closely with customer support teams to address user issues and feedback promptly
- Prioritize feature development and bug fixes based on customer needs and market trends
- Communication:
- Facilitate clear and effective communication between the engineering team and other departments
- Prepare and present project updates and technical reports to senior management
- Innovation and Adaptability:
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation within the team
- Adapt to changing project requirements and priorities, ensuring the team remains agile and responsive

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience with software development methodologies, including Agile and Scrum
- 5+ years of experience in software development, with a solid background in mobile app development (React Native preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in a leadership role, managing engineering teams and projects
- 5+ years of experience in programming languages such as Javascript, Swift, Kotlin and other relevant technologies
- 3+ years of experience with leading, mentoring, and managing a team of engineers
- 3+ years of experience in project management, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with software testing, debugging, and quality assurance practices
- Proven excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Proven solid interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and teamwork
- Proven exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
- Proven innovative thinking to develop creative solutions and drive continuous improvement
- Proven ability to maintain high standards of code quality and performance
- Willingness to stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends
- Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities
*All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter PolicyThe salary range for this role is $106,800 to $194,200 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
