Job description: Cloud Engineer - Office of Government-wide PolicyThe Position:We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Cloud Engineer - Office of Government-wide Policy to support to support sandbox development for testing tools related to Federal Identity, Credential, and Access Management (FICAM).Key responsibilities include:
- Architect, develop, and maintain sandbox environments for FICAM-related identity management tools.
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate, test, and refine identity management solutions
- Optimize cloud infrastructure to ensure scalability, security, and performance.
- Provide expert guidance on cloud technologies—with a strong preference for Azure and AWS experience.
- Troubleshoot issues rapidly and implement best practices for cloud security and compliance.
- Work closely with stakeholders to align sandbox development efforts with organizational goals and compliance mandates.
- Bachelor's degree preferably in a relevant field, such as computer science, engineering, or information technology.
- Junior Level: Minimum of three years of experience in cloud engineering.
- SME Level: Minimum of ten years of experience in cloud engineering with a focus on identity management and security.
- Expertise in Azure and / or AWS cloud services.
- Strong understanding of FICAM frameworks and federal security standards.
- Experience with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), automation (Terraform/Ansible), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with federal cybersecurity regulations (NIST, FedRAMP, etc.).
- Previous experience working with sandbox development for identity management tools.
- Certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or CISSP.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results efficiently.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- The salary range for this role is $80,000-$180,000 depending on experience and contract length
- Expected travel 0-10%; may increase based on business needs
- This is a full-time, contractual position for a duration of 6 months.
- This role is subject to a hybrid work schedule in the Washington D.C.

- Light Carrying: Physically transporting items weighing less than 15 pounds from one location to another
