In this role the Sr Instrument Technician provides repair and calibration services to support Utilities / Facilities assets and systems. Many of the systems are business critical to Site Operations and must be accurately maintained for compliance and assurance of supply.
- Maintains equipment to ensure uninterrupted service to Amgen
 - Performs regular scheduled maintenance / calibration on instruments which support or monitor utility systems (ex. Environmental monitoring, Pressure, Gas detection, Scales, Process equipment, etc.)
 - Provides emergency / unscheduled repairs of equipment and plant systems
 - Assists with projects by collaborating with system engineers to design, specify, and commission new systems or upgrades
 - Responsible for compliance with applicable policies and procedures
 - Applies engineering experience to ensure that instrumentation and controls systems used in assigned facilities are accurately specified, installed, programmed, and calibrated to perform design function
 - Performs periodic assessment of field device calibration frequencies, and addressing out of tolerance (OOT), accessing instrument performance for replacement / upgrade
 - Troubleshoots analog / digital hardware related problems on process control systems and instrumentation, including distributed control systems (DCS), programmable logic controllers (PLC's) and single loop analog controllers
 - Performs calibration procedures including training and qualifying calibration technicians
 - Effectively communicate, document, and schedule all work activities
 - Responsible for maintaining instrumentation and controls equipment in a validated environment including all GxP areas
 - Ensures that instrumentation and controls are of appropriate calibration designation and that red tagged and status coded instrumentation are addressed and repaired within allowable time constraints
 - Must succinctly communicate the status of job activities to management and applicable production support personnel
 - Other responsibilities and duties as assigned by Group Leader, Supervisor, or Senior Supervisor
 
- Associates Degree in electronics technology
 - Knowledge of validated systems, applicable engineering standards and an ability to work with facility specific software applications is essential to the job function
 - Must manage activities to meet restrictive timelines
 - Must have strong interpersonal skills including excellent written and verbal communication skills
 - Ability to work within and promote a team environment
