In this vital role you will provide preclinical contracting support to Amgen’s Intellectual Property and Litigation department. This position drafts and negotiates a variety of preclinical-related and translational agreements, such as agreements relating to preclinical research, consortiums, material transfer, data sharing, and confidential disclosures, and supports the development of resources (including systems, templates, negotiation guides, and training materials) useful in preclinical law. This position also supports the business and clinical contracting groups in their intellectual property needs, and assists in other relevant preclinical contracting issues.Job Responsibilities
Expected salary: $111234 - 131770 per year

- Working under general direction and supervision of an attorney or paralegal to provide legal support on a wide array of preclinical contracting issues
 - Performing research on laws, regulations, and industry developments affecting preclinical contracting issues
 - Drafting and negotiating a high volume of preclinical-related and translational contracts in a time-sensitive environment
 - Undertaking special projects as assigned
 - Understanding and complying with all relevant procedures and policies
 
- Completion of an ABA-approved paralegal education program or equivalent experience.
 - Experience working as a paralegal in a corporate legal department or law firm environment.
 - Strong knowledge of contracting and legal procedures, particularly related to pharmaceutical and/or university contracts
 - Proficiency in fair market value analysis
 - Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and Docusign, and as well as familiarity with evolving technologies such as AI technologies and machine learning
 - Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize deadlines effectively
 - Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work product, with a commitment to quality and excellence
 - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders
 - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a collaborative team
 - High ethical standards and integrity, with a commitment to upholding confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects of work
