- Participates in the activities of professional organizations as appropriate to provide statewide leadership for grades K-12 computer science.
 - Provides technical assistance to district and department personnel on instructional programs, research, innovations, materials, and strategies related to grades K-12 computer science and the teaching of computer science in grades K-12.
 - Provides leadership and coordination in the development and implementation of Florida’s state academic standards for computer science and corresponding course work and resources for K-12 computer science.
 - Oversees the fidelity of instructional support and standards-based materials housed on CPALMS, IBTP, FLDOE.org and other FDOE achieved websites.
 - Plans, develops, organizes, and conducts professional learning to assist districts in preparing for local staff development opportunities related specifically to the implementation of Florida’s state academic standards for computer science and statewide assessments.
 - Coordinates and oversees state/federal grant programs as assigned.
 - Assists in the development and implementation of curricular initiatives such as the Course Code Directory, instructional materials adoptions, and State Board of Education rules related to K-12 computer science instruction.
 - Performs other duties as assigned.
 
Four years of professional experience in Computer Science. * Ability to travel.

- Annual Leave - All full-time Career Service employees filling established positions earn annual leave in varying increments dependent upon years of creditable service. Employees with up to 5 years of creditable service earn 8.667 hours per month, with 5 to 10 years earn 10.833 hours per month and those with over 10 years of service earn 13 hours per month. Employees in Senior Management Service and Selected Exempt Service positions are credited with 176 hours of annual leave upon appointment.
