In order to provide an instructional environment conducive to successful learning experiences for this wide array of students, the Colleges provide the support and help of the Tutor.In the Academic Center of Excellence (ACE), the Tutor provides tutorial services to students, in small groups at a Connecticut Department of Correction facility as part of the Second Chance Pell program. Incumbents provide this support in a Connecticut Department of Correction facility in which the classes and tutoring sessions are held.Example of Job Duties:Under the direction of the Director of the Academic Center for Excellence (ACE), the Interim Associate Dean of Non-traditional Transition Programs or other administrator, the Tutor accountable for providing assistance to faculty and students in assigned academic areas through effective performance in these essential functional areas:
Expected salary: $34.06 per hour

- Providing group tutoring.
- Assisting students in carrying out assignments, including giving supplemental instruction in the academic discipline being applied.
- Observing and providing information to faculty on student performance and on those requiring special faculty instruction.
- Experience in tutoring and basic instruction in the assigned academic discipline.
- Knowledge of principles and concepts of the assigned academic discipline.
- Experience supporting students in academic goal setting and career planning.
- Experience working with faculty and staff members in different departments or divisions.
- Ability to provide academic support via video conferencing platforms.
- Two (2) years of relevant teaching and/or tutoring experience.
- Bilingual (Spanish).
- Prior experience using the TutorTrac platform and Blackboard LMS (not all colleges require this experience)
Expected salary: $34.06 per hour
