Program Specialist - Hemoglobin Trait Education

Job Description:The Program Specialist for the Hemoglobin Trait Program is responsible for organizing, engaging in, and providing oversight of projects, processes, and the policies and procedures essential to the success of the trait counseling program.This will be a hybrid remote position. The employee will be required to be onsite weekly on alternating days.Job Responsibilities:
  • Administer sickle cell and other hemoglobin trait programs or projects.
  • Counsels more than 500 individuals with sickle cell and other hemoglobin traits.
  • Document education in the database, and send education and literature to families.
  • Develop and disseminate communications regarding the program or project.
  • Resolve program-related and/or project related issues.
  • Track program progress, adoption, or performance and provide ongoing reports to leadership/program sponsors.
  • Track and analyze data to identify trends and make recommendations.
  • Support program by identifying process improvement opportunities; Execute program initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
Minimum Education and/or Training:
  • Bachelors degree required. Highly preferred education in public health, community health, nursing, or a related field.
Minimum Experience:
  • Minimum Requirement: 1+ years of experience in program coordination.
  • Some experience/knowledge in working with project planning tools like MS Project, Microsoft SharePoint, ServiceNow, Smartsheet, Clarity, Planview, MS Office is a plus. Experience with RedCap is a plus.
  • Experience with or knowledge of sickle cell disease and hemoglobin traits preferred.
Compensation In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
