Business Analytics Manager - SAAS - Remote - US ONLY - $110-140K
Job Brief:
Steppingblocks is looking for a Business Analytics Manager. This role reports directly to the Chief Innovation Officer and is responsible for data governance, business data quality, reporting, and business analytics (R&D) for product development and innovation. This position is a liaison between the data, product, and executive teams and works closely with each. We are looking for a highly disciplined and attention-to-detail oriented individual with a passion for improving student success with our data-driven approach:
Responsibilities:
Data Governance
- Responsible for managing and maintaining business data dictionaries. Work with the data and business units to ensure all definitions, methods, and rules are up-to-date and adequately documented.
- Build and maintain processes that strengthen data governance practices at Steppingblocks.
- Responsible for database management, permissions, tracking, and reporting
- Responsible for database, processes, and workflow documentation management and maintenance
- Data use compliance. Ensure all business data users use proper storage methods and naming conventions and comply with all privacy policies.
Business Data Quality
- Responsible for periodic post-ETL data quality analysis to track global changes, the integrity of dimensional values, client aggregational values, and version-to-version change tracking.
- Create executive summary on data quality results. Work with the data team to investigate, fix, and report findings.
- Maintain all relevant documentation related to QA.
- Monitor the consistency of values across products (applications or otherwise) and be able to explain differences.
Reporting
- Analyze, audit, organize, and build presentations as required for custom delivery requests, Alumlink deliveries, and standard extracts.
- Generate periodic reports from user data, client data, and usage metrics associated with the customer pipeline.
- Perform ad hoc reports as needed by management.
- Proactively generate insights for Steppingblocks’ data and propose ideas for management that influence internal and external use.
Research & Product Development
- Become a subject matter expert in Steppingblocks’ data to help the innovation team build new products and enhance existing ones.
- Become an expert in graduation outcomes analytics to perform relevant analyses of our workforce data that would add value to our customers, partners, and the industry.
- Work with the executive team to perform custom complex analyses that answer direct questions for business opportunities (new potential customers, products, and potential partnerships)
- Work with the product and customer success teams to address data investigations, product feedback (from data), and potential issues.
Skills Required:
- Highest level of attention to detail and data discipline best practices.
- 5+ years of experience managing complex data environments, QA processes, and documentation requirements.
- Advanced proficiency with SQL and Python to query and analyze data.
- Proficiency with PostgreSQL, Snowflake, and Mongo.
- Proficient with data visualization tools, Tableau preferred.
- Proficient with structured and unstructured data format handling and manipulation.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to present complex data in simplified narratives and presentations to management.
- Bachelor’s degree (Masters preferred) preferably in an engineering or data analytics discipline.
