  • As a Lead Lifeguard will provide day-to-day advice and guidance to employees for work assignments, relay instructions from ODR Director for work assignments.

  • Ensures that worksite materials and tools are available, ensures employees are following security and safety rules.

  • Report all safety violations to ODR Director.

  • Enforces established operating policies and procedures.

  • Ensures the safe operation of the pool, it's filtration system, water balance, chemistry and performs water tests.

  • Continuously observes swimming area to ensure safety of patrons.

  • Ensures the swimming area is open to patrons at scheduled times and only authorized persons are admitted to the area.

  • Rescues swimmers in trouble, promptly administers first aid, and calls for medical assistance if and when needed.

  • Warns swimmers of unsafe environmental or health conditions, ocean conditions of rough water or hazards, and recommends closing swimming areas until safe conditions prevail.

  • When working at pools, may operate water pumps and control chemical additives to ensure pool water meets specified standards.

  • Ensures that diving boards are inspected frequently for cracks or loose matting, and that necessary repairs are made.

  • May perform other related or incidental duties as assigned for the daily operation of the swimming area to include: cleaning of bath houses, wading pools, main pools, pool decks, beach areas, sunbathing areas, etc.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • This position requires satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks in accordance with Air Force and DoD policy, and a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation.
