Network Administrator
Summary/Objective:
The Network System Administrator plays a critical role in the stability, performance, and security of the IT infrastructure that powers our 3PL warehouse operations. Reporting directly to the Sr. Network Administrator, this role is responsible for supporting a diverse network ecosystem across multiple facilities, ensuring that all business-critical systems — including Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Transportation Management Systems (TMS), automation platforms, RF devices, and physical security systems — are operating with minimal downtime, high reliability, and optimal security.Essential Functions:

- Administer, monitor, and maintain core network systems (LAN/WAN) including firewalls, switches, routers, and VPNs.
- Manage wireless infrastructure (e.g., APs, controllers) to ensure reliable RF coverage for handhelds, tablets, robots, and IoT systems.
- Respond to and resolve Tier 2/3 network issues, outages, and performance bottlenecks across multiple warehouse locations.
- Maintain IP address management, VLAN configurations, and QoS prioritization for operational-critical applications (WMS, TMS, VOIP, CCTV).
- Support circuit provisioning, SD-WAN, cellular failover systems, and remote access tools for business continuity.
- Administer and maintain Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and file/print services.
- Support server patching, firmware upgrades, and regular backup/restore procedures.
- Manage Windows and Linux servers (where applicable) supporting warehouse systems and access control.
- Assist with the deployment of new warehouses, including site surveys, cabling coordination, AP placement, and IT rack installation
- Implement and document IT infrastructure standards during facility expansions or customer onboarding
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams on hardware purchases, system upgrades, and network refreshes.
- Enforce IT security controls in alignment with company standards and industry compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, CTPAT).
- Support physical security systems including camera (CCTV) networks, door access systems, and alarm network connectivity.
- Work with the cybersecurity team to apply firewall policies, monitor IDS alerts, and secure edge devices
- Maintain and update network diagrams, asset inventories, patch levels, and change logs.
- Utilize monitoring tools (e.g., PRTG, SolarWinds, Aruba Central) to proactively address issues and analyze trends.
- Participate in on-call rotation and escalate major incidents to the Sr. Network Infrastructure Director when necessary.

- Associate or bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 5+ years of experience in network/system administration, ideally in warehouse, manufacturing, or logistics settings.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols, VLANs, VPNs, DHCP, DNS, firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, or equivalent).
- Experience with wireless solutions such as Aruba and Network Extreme.
- Proficiency in Windows Server administration and Microsoft Active Directory environments.
- Preferred Cisco CCNA or CompTIA Network+/Security+ certification.
- Experience with network security appliances, endpoint protection, and backup solutions.
- Familiarity with Honeywell mobile devices, Zebra scanners, or similar RF equipment used in warehouses.
- Experience supporting physical security systems (e.g., Avigilon, Digital Watchdog, Honeywell WinPak)
- Warehouse-based environment with exposure to industrial settings
- Must be able to occasionally travel between facilities
- Flexibility for after-hours work during maintenance windows or critical outages
