This level builds on experience gained as an Engineer 3 to an Engineer 5 by either obtaining more depth in specific subject area with the expectation that assignments are larger and more complex, or by gaining experience in more subject areas.
- Work with multi-discipline teams to develop design materials for project assignments for heavy civil works projects such as generation, power infrastructure (transmission, distribution, substations), solar, wind, dams, buried infrastructure, tunnels, etc.
- Perform analysis, design calculations, design sketches, and preparing geotechnical design reports to meet project requirements.
- Perform, coordinate, and manage geotechnical field investigations.
- Coordinate, manage, observe, and document geotechnical construction activities such as grouting, ground improvement, deep foundations, retaining walls, etc.
- Design facility and mission critical projects for U.S. Government Agency and Department clients.
- Directly contribute to global projects and missions, including Domestic (US based), Pacific and European locations.
- Perform engineering functions requiring knowledge and experience in engineering principles. Also performs all aspects of conventional design engineering and analysis.
- Focuses on the coordinating internal teams and resources while working to understand client's interest and needs.
- Develop structural technical specifications, plans, and details for projects such as power generation facilities, substations, transmission lines, solar sites, dams, canals, flood control projects, municipal water, wastewater, and pipelines
- Planning, designing, and overseeing geotechnical aspects for projects both in the office and in the field.
- Be able to travel on field assignments as required. Field time is estimated at 20 and 40%.
- 3+ years of experience supporting geotechnical/heavy civil projects
- Experience with geotechnical investigations, grouting, ground improvement, deep foundations, and retaining walls
- Prefer Master's Degree in Civil Engineering with Emphasis in Geotechnical Engineering • Active Engineering-In-Training (EIT) Preferred
- Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing
- Minimum of 5 years related work experience
