This position, located at Colorado Springs, CO, Schriever Space Force Base, CO, or Huntsville, AL, plays a crucial role in supporting the U.S. President, Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at the strategic, regional, and operational levels.Relocation Assistance is not available for this position, and this role is on-site with no remote optionsPosition Overview:The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. This crucial operational system enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, collectively observe the battle's development, and dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that facilitates an optimized response to threats of all ranges in all phases of flight. C2BMC acts as a force multiplier both globally and regionally. Networks integrate and synchronize autonomous sensors and weapon systems to enhance performance. C2BMC is essential for all system ground and flight tests, which verify and exercise the capabilities of all current and future missile defense systems.Essential Functions:

• This is a Capability Engineer position for which the selected applicant will perform the following:

• Develop use cases and prepare systems engineering artifacts, including defining Epics and Features for the Cross-Functional Product Teams to implement customer-requested capabilities
• Support the development and review of interface documents, system requirements, Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM) development, architectural documentation, system engineering estimates, and conduct formal and informal engineering reviews
• Provide development support for junior systems engineering team members to create use cases, enhancing their skills within the department
• Reviewing the content and details of technical products and serving as a technical interface to MDA working-level counterparts as needed
• Work will be performed under the direction of various technical leads and product owners, requiring collaboration with team members, C2BMC management, and government customers to ensure that high-quality products are delivered on time and within the available resources
• Solves complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity
• Work is performed without appreciable direction and is reviewed for desired results from a relatively long time perspective
• Erroneous decisions would generally fail to achieve primary organizational objectives
• May function in project leadership roles and represent the organization as the prime customer contact on significant technical matters on contracts
• Must have the ability to be flexible to support various tasks on short notice

Salary range in Huntsville: $131,100 - $196,700Salary range in Colorado Springs: $124,900 - $187,300Basic Qualifications:Please note your updated security clearance and IAT/relevant certifications on your resume, if applicable.

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related discipline preferred from an accredited university and 8 years of experience, or a Master’s degree (preferred) in a STEM related discipline and 6 years of experience, or PhD in a STEM related field with 4 years relevant experience
• Applicants must have a current active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start with the ability to obtain Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
• Must possess the ability to be part of an integrated team tasked with developing and maintaining the physical, functional, and technical requirements baselines necessary to describe the desired capabilities of an evolving MDS Command & Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) system
• Demonstrated experience in mission analysis with skill in:

• Development of use cases
• Sequence diagrams
• SysML modeling in support of MBSE
• Skills in generating system or element-level functional, performance, and interface specifications to document and control the achievement of desired capabilities.
• Requirements elicitation, derivation, and decomposition to lower-level subsystems and components
• Maintenance of system and component baselines in a requirement management system
• Defining the relationships between internal and external components
• Communicating system-level use cases along with their associated epics and feature relationships to a diverse group that includes customers, developers, engineers, subject matter experts, and users.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Current and Active in-scope DoD-issued TS/SCI clearance at the time of application is highly preferred
• Master's Degree in Systems Engineering
• Certification: INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) Certification
• Certification: Object Management Group Certified Systems Modeling Professional - Model Builder Fundamental (OCSMP - MBF)
• DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+ CE, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CCNA Security, etc.) is highly desired at the start
• Skills in logical architecture modeling and interface definition, along with knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and security accreditation, are highly desirable
• Experience with Agile Methods, and Epic and Feature definition is a significant plus
• Experience with other Space Domain and Missile Defense Systems is highly desired

Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
