Job title: LVN Supervisor Company: Primary Medical Group of Ventura Job description: SUMMARY The LVN Supervisor is an experienced licensed LVN who will demonstrate a level of proficiency in directing patient throughput with a proven ability to use practice policies and processes to guide decision-making, in order to resolve patient care issues in a timely fashion. This position performs complex and varied administrative and clinical assignments and serves as a personal contact for providers, staff, and outside departments in order to address problems, issues or concerns that require attention. Assists in management of clinical operations. The LVN Supervisor directly supervises Medical Assistants at assigned location(s), demonstrating a keen ability to consistently communicate to staff in a competent, interpersonal and culturally sensitive manner, mindful of their role as patient advocate. The LVN Supervisor evaluates individual employees/staff performance as well as coaches, mentors, and takes corrective action and discipline when appropriate. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Demonstrates clinical expertise within scope of licensure Reinforce and support commitment to the mission and values of the organization Treat all patients with courtesy and respect while observing the value of patient confidentiality and privacy Establish a safe and professional work environment, adhering to all safety precautions and Code of Conduct standards Provide direction and supervision to all staff within your defined reporting structure to ensure efficient day-to-day operations. Develop, implement, and administer in-service training and education for staff as needed Ensure adherence to established departmental policies and procedures Assists employees with day- to- day operational decisions as applicable to patient care Facilitates the orientation and ongoing development and education of staff Supervises and leads staff in collaborative relationships within and outside of office Oversees orders, supply auditing, ensuring all clinical equipment is operational Manages clinical tasks via the electronic health record Follows up on requests made by staff and providers on an ongoing basis Performs functions of a medical assistant on an as needed basis to support the delivery of patient care services Assists with basic triage in the scheduling department Hire, retain, schedule, review, and discipline as appropriate, qualified staff; ensures that new employees are oriented to their department and well trained for their jobs Manages clinical inventory and ensures that the office is meeting the budgeting goals through a cost-effective store of supplies and proper functioning of equipment Participate in multifunction teams to create and review clinical policies, procedures and workflows. Other duties as required QUALIFICATIONS Required: Current and valid California LVN License Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association At least 2 years of LVN experience or similar medical experience Functional knowledge of outpatient practice operations Skill in usage of medical diagnostic equipment, as well as working knowledge of instruments and supplies required to perform basic clinical procedures and physical examinations in a primary care setting Must exhibit effective communication, organizational, and decision-making skills Computer literacy: Previous experience with EHR, and the use of healthcare software programs. Working knowledge of Google Workspace, and/or Microsoft Office Required: Experience within a primary care office setting. WORK ENVIRONMENT- This job operates in a medical practice environment. EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK- This is a full-time position. Hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 pm. TRAVEL– Occasional local daytime travel to other Ventura County office locations may occur as needed. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently required to stand and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to ten (10) pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to forty (40) pounds.
