The job of Senior Director, Community Engagement is done for the purpose/s of leading a team of content area specialists to provide technical assistance, resources, and research-based strategies on community and family engagement via local, regional, and statewide efforts. Whole Child and Community Design is a committment to honoring diverse voices, leveraging community relationships, and ensuring the well-being and success of every child. SDCOE operates one of eight regional technical assistance centers that will support local LEAs with the complexities of community schools planning, implementation, capacity building, and organization, and help districts implement culturally relevant practices and build equitable systems that create conditions for all members of the school community to thrive. This position is full-time and will offer the certificated management benefits package, which includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage, and will participate in the CalSTRS state retirement system. This position is grant-funded through June 30, 2029. Requirements / Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Education: A Master's degree in education, educational administration, or closely related field; and; Experience: Five (5) years of experience as a site, district, or county office administrator required; experience leading collaborative teams and regional projects is preferred including designing, and delivering high-quality, professional learning and technical assistance that resulted in improved outcomes for students. Proven experience working with diverse student and adult learner populations, including professional development leading whole-child and/or community school initiatives; -- OR -- Equivalency: A combination of education and experience equivalent to: a master's degree in education, educational administration, or closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a site, district, or county office administrator required; experience leading collaborative teams and regional projects are preferred including designing, and delivering high-quality, professional learning and technical assistance that resulted in improved outcomes for students; proven experience working with diverse student and adult learner populations, including professional development leading whole-child and/or community school initiatives.
