Product Strategist + Mobile App Developer for MVP (Parenting & Community App)

Remote, USA Full-time Posted 2025-11-03
I’m a working mom with a vision for a clean, community-driven mobile app that helps other parents easily find local summer camps, sports leagues, and enrichment programs — all in one place. This is a personal passion project turned serious business opportunity. I’m looking for a collaborative partner to help me take this from a clear concept to a polished MVP. The app will serve families in Massachusetts first, then expand regionally. The App Will: • Centralize listings of summer camps, sports, arts, STEM, and other enrichment activities • Include filters by age, interest, price, and location • Allow user reviews and the ability to bookmark or save programs • Optionally include user accounts and email reminders for registration deadlines What I Need: • A product-minded developer or small team to help shape and build the MVP • Strategic input on which features to build now versus later • Wireframing and basic UX/UI design in Figma (or similar) • Mobile-friendly build (iOS-first; open to cross-platform solutions) • Recommendations for backend tools (Airtable, Firebase, Supabase, etc.) • Someone collaborative, clear in communication, and interested in building something useful for families Ideal Experience: • You’ve built and launched consumer-facing apps (especially in parenting, directories, or community-focused products) • Experience defining MVP scope and user flows • Strong understanding of mobile UX best practices • Comfortable working with a non-technical founder • Bonus: Experience with calendar tools, filtering/search interfaces, or map integrations Design Style: • Clean, modern, and calming (natural tones like sand and water; not bright primary colors) • Think Apple, Headspace, or AllTrails — with a simple interface and a focus on helpfulness, not clutter Budget: Open to fixed price or phased hourly structure. Ideally, MVP falls within the $10K–$15K range depending on scope and speed. Location: US-based preferred, but open to remote freelancers with strong communication and relevant experience. Bonus if you are a parent or have worked in the family/lifestyle space. To Apply: Please include: 1. Relevant mobile app projects or MVPs you’ve worked on 2. Your process for helping define scope and build lean 3. A general timeline or range for building a simple MVP as described I’m looking forward to working with someone who is strategic, thoughtful, and excited about building something meaningful for modern parents.
