About the position
Responsibilities
• Initiate applications (RFC, RRFC, RFINCP) on behalf of Capital Division facilities for providers who meet minimal Threshold Eligibility Criteria.
• Apply the credentials evaluation process uniformly to all assigned RFC/applications, R-RFC/re-applications and Request For Increased, New Clinical Privileges, or Change in Prescriptive Authority (RFINCP) requests.
• Communicate with providers and delegates to obtain missing or incomplete information and regarding status of requests/applications.
• Facilitate review of clinical privilege requests using approved eligibility criteria and maintain privilege content within the Cactus system.
• Compile and analyze any available internal data and information for an assessment of qualifications and competencies for R-RFC/re-applications.
• Summarize and prepare credentialing information, including information about flagged concerns, for facility review.
• Facilitate requests for temporary privileges communicating with CPC leadership as needed.
• Perform activities that support the facility dynamic expiration management process.
• Perform facility post Board of Trustees processes including updates to the Cactus system record.
• Utilize the Cactus system to create and upload applicable communication letters to providers based on Board/Facility actions.
• Scan Board/Facility communication and approval documentation to Cactus provider records.
• Generate and save Cactus Downtime reports monthly for each facility.
• Respond to emails and voicemails promptly; monitor shared mailbox and calendar.
• Perform hospital non-privileged provider licensure, NPI and exclusion checks.
• Support and facilitate information sharing in accordance with compliance policies.
• Assist with preparation for regulatory, internal and accreditation surveys.
• Respond to annual QIO Audits on behalf of Division facilities.
• Manage Physician Learning Center/Healthstream database for provider education.
• Submit eSAF system access requests for new access, removals and changes to existing access.
• Manage and update the Meditech/eHR Dictionary related to practitioner permissions and privileges.
• Attend Division Medical Staff Services meetings as needed.
• Collaborate with Division leaders on pertinent projects as needed.
Requirements
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• At least one (1) year previous credentialing experience preferred.
• Demonstrate accurate knowledge of relevant laws, policies, regulations, and standards affecting credentialing decisions.
• Excellent organizational skills; attention to detail.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills required.
• Proficient in Cactus Credentialing Software, Microsoft Office applications, Internet searches, and relevant databases.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Reasoning skills to solve practical problems.
Nice-to-haves
• Associate Degree or higher preferred.
• HCA Healthcare credentialing and Cactus experience preferred.
• Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) preferred.
