Informatics Practice Specialist II Perioperative Services
                                About the position
Responsibilities
• Collaborates with Medical Center leaders and key stakeholders to implement innovative models and best practices within clinical information systems.
• Advocates for the use of KPHC and directs the development and implementation of changes to improve quality and efficiency.
• Represents patient care services informatics needs at governance committees and medical center workgroups.
• Manages clinical systems to achieve high customer satisfaction with an emphasis on quality and innovation.
• Provides program planning, management, and consultative services in clinical education and training.
• Identifies training needs for nursing staff in existing and new applications.
• Aligns clinical education services with the needs for a competent professional workforce.
• Provides coaching and consultative services to clinical leaders to solve clinical performance problems.
• Conducts ad hoc training and ensures appropriate utilization of KPHC and other clinical systems.
• Provides leadership and technical advice related to KPHC and data management processes.
• Evaluates the impact of information systems on user workflow and identifies enhancements.
• Coordinates ongoing KPHC evaluations focusing on user accuracy and data integrity.
• Develops and implements action plans to support user accuracy and system reliability.
• Participates in post-implementation evaluations and supports users in maintaining changed processes.
• Manages the impact of KPHC changes on patient care delivery and member services.
• Participates in interdisciplinary teams to identify future uses for KPHC and improvements in current systems.
• Maintains knowledge of trends in Nursing and Healthcare Informatics and serves as a resource for informatics.
Requirements
• Minimum five (5) years nursing experience in patient care.
• Masters degree required in a related field.
• BSN or bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field required.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Completion of a certification program in a healthcare-related area of Informatics or a Master's Degree in healthcare-related Informatics within three (3) years of employment.
• Registered Nurse License (California) required.
• Basic Life Support certification required.
• Demonstrated leadership qualities and expertise in clinical informatics.
