About the position The Patient Scheduler II position at Essentia Health involves pre-registering and scheduling patients for various healthcare services in a professional and courteous manner. This hybrid role requires working in the office for the first three months before transitioning to a remote option. The scheduler will handle incoming calls, manage follow-up and referral work queues, and ensure efficient communication with patient care teams to facilitate optimal patient care. Responsibilities • Pre-registers and schedules patients for appointments, procedures, tests, and other services. , • Handles incoming calls and manages follow-up and referral work queues. , • Completes patient checkout and schedules follow-up appointments as per physician's orders. , • Provides patients with cost estimates and itineraries for upcoming appointments. , • Coordinates scheduling of services for patients, including ancillary and procedure scheduling. , • Enters data accurately into the electronic health record while communicating with patients. , • Supports Population Management and Chronic Disease Management initiatives through patient registry and outbound calling. , • Performs other clerical duties as assigned. Requirements • 1 year of clinical healthcare experience or experience as a Patient Scheduler I. , • Completion of Healthcare Business Insight's Patient Access Certification Program within six months of hire date.
