Associate Scientist - Functional Genomics
About the position
Responsibilities
• Prepare key tissues and samples for genomics and proteomics assays
• Culture in vitro models including cell lines and organoids for discovery efforts
• Prepare and implement molecular and biological tools for experimental studies
• Contribute to profiling experiments, including transcriptomics, proteomics, imaging, and cytometry-based assays
• Make actionable decisions as a technical expert
• Collaborate closely with other team members on experimental design and execution
• Present research findings at internal team meetings
Requirements
• Master's degree with 1 year experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, genomics, or related fields or Bachelor's degree with 3 years experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, or genomics or related fields
Nice-to-haves
• Demonstrated experience with cell culture and tissue preparation
• Demonstrated experience with sample prep for genomics and/or proteomics
• Experiences with cell biology tools such as antibody-based enrichment, cell fractionation, or membrane bound protein preparation
• Experience with molecular biology such as CRISPR, overexpression constructs, lentivirus, etc
• Experience with profiling assays including transcriptomics, imaging, and cytometry
• Proficiency with experimental design
• Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to thrive in a cross-functional setting
