Excel Expert Needed to Rebuild Our Project Quoting Tool (Finance, Sales, & Ops-Friendly)

About Us: WZC Networking is a fast-growing wireless infrastructure company building the networks that keep businesses, buildings, and communities connected. We’re scaling rapidly and need to overhaul our internal quoting tool to support our next phase of growth. What worked when we were a $1M company doesn’t cut it anymore. The Challenge: We have a baseline Excel quoting template that’s been functional—until now. Each department is pulling in different directions: Finance needs accuracy, margin visibility, and rollups that tie into forecasting. Sales needs flexibility, clean UI, quick quoting, and smart automation (no heavy lifting). Operations needs clarity on scope, billable labor, materials, and handoff consistency. Our current setup isn’t meeting anyone’s needs. We need a quoting tool that works for everyone, without being overly complicated. Project Goals: - We’re looking for a skilled Excel wizard with strong business logic chops who can: - Rebuild our quoting tool from our existing template - Collaborate with us to understand departmental needs and workflows - Simplify the UI for sales while preserving complexity in the backend for finance and ops - Incorporate logic for pricing, margins, taxable items, service/hardware splits, etc. - Build in error-proofing, dropdowns, toggles, and automation to streamline the quoting process - Optionally: provide guidance on a future-proof version of this tool (Power BI, Google Sheets, or app-based?) Ideal Candidate: - Expert in Excel (advanced formulas, data validation, pivot tables, VBA/macros a plus) - Strong understanding of quoting processes and cost/margin modeling - Has worked with B2B service-based companies (especially construction, IT, or telecom) - Can communicate clearly, take feedback, and think like an operator—not just a developer Deliverables: - Rebuilt Excel quoting tool (modular and scalable) - Department-specific views or outputs (PDF exports, summary sheets, or dashboards) - Documentation or short Loom videos explaining how to use and maintain it - Optional: recommendations for moving beyond Excel (if we outgrow it) Project Scope: We estimate this will take 20–40 hours depending on your experience and how many iterations are needed.
