Job Description: We are hiring experienced secondary math educators to develop high-quality, standards-aligned instructional content for asynchronous digital learning. This contract position involves writing curriculum materials for the following subjects: • Algebra I • Algebra II • Geometry • Precalculus Writers will use structured lesson templates to develop complete instructional packages for high school mathematics courses, including Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, and Precalculus. Each package may include real-world, scenario-based problems, step-by-step worked examples, figure descriptions, guided practice, and aligned assessments. Lessons are designed for asynchronous learning and must emphasize clarity, grade-appropriate rigor, coherence, and alignment to high school Common Core Standards. Subject matter expertise in the assigned math content area is essential and will be closely evaluated during the interview process. Writers are expected to create content that demonstrates real-world applications, integrates data and visuals, and supports mathematical reasoning at a level appropriate for grades 9–12. We use AI tools to support development and streamline formatting, ensuring consistency and efficiency across all curriculum builds. Ideal candidates can apply instructional best practices to a digital format and revise content in response to editorial feedback. Responsibilities: • Develop original, Common Core–aligned lesson content using provided templates • Incorporate real-world applications, problem-solving scenarios, and mathematical practices that reflect authentic use of mathematics • Create step-by-step worked examples, practice problems, and short assignments • Use feedback to revise and improve clarity, structure, and rigor • Maintain consistency in tone, formatting, terminology, and structure across lessons • Collaborate with editors and content reviewers as needed Requirements: • At least 3 years of teaching experience in one or more of the listed subjects • Subject matter mastery in at least one focus area • Strong understanding of instructional best practices and Common Core Math standards • Able to meet deadlines, follow formatting requirements, and work independently • Ability to collaborate effectively Preferred Qualifications: • Currently teaching or recently taught grades 9–12 mathematics • Familiarity with asynchronous and self-paced learning environments Basic understanding of LaTeX and integrated development environments (not required but ideal) Application Process: • Ensure your resume is up-to-date with your personal email listed • If your resume meets initial requirements, you will receive a follow-up response on Indeed with a link to a video overview of the role and instructions for a short assignment. • Complete the short assignment and submit it through the Indeed chat. If the short assignment meets expectations, the following will take place: • A contract will be emailed to you • A login to Basecamp will be emailed to you • You will be invited to a group training session ($45 for approximately 90 minutes). • You will be shown and asked to complete a second paid assignment—a full lesson creation—using the provided templates and guidelines. ($45 for approximately 90 minutes). • If you chose to sign the contract, attend the training, and produce the second assignment, you're guaranteed to be paid $90 whether or not you are brought on for additional contract work. If the second paid assignment meets quality standards, you will be invited to a one-on-one interview to move forward with onboarding.
