Your Role: The Biology Field Application Scientist (BFAS) is a key role responsible for providing pre- and post-sales support for instrumentation platforms, consumables, and software within MilliporeSigma's Biology portfolio. As a BFAS, you will interact with customers daily, providing technical product information, training, troubleshooting, and support. The BFAS plays a crucial role in driving sales growth through application support, helping differentiate and position products based on scientific, technical, and competitive principles. Position Responsibilities: • Technical Sales Support: Provide pre- and post-sales technical support to account managers and sales specialists through product education, seminars, in-field training, and customer collaborations. Focus areas include Molecular Biology, Specialty Cell Culture, and Proteomics. • Instrumentation: Assist customers in adopting and optimizing instrumentation such as Luminex, SMC, BioTek plate washers, Millicell ERS 3.0, Scepter, and CellASIC ONIX2. • Territory Planning: Collaborate with commercial teams to develop plans that identify, nurture, and close opportunities to meet sales targets. • Customer Partnership: Provide proactive support on the usage and application of instrumentation, products, and data analysis. • Relationship Building: Engage with key opinion leaders and collaborate with the commercial team to manage customer relationships. • Knowledge Acquisition: Quickly learn about MilliporeSigma innovations and promote new products through seminars and networking. • Conference Support: Represent the team at conferences and tradeshows. • Product Differentiation: Highlight the scientific and technical advantages of products and services. • Customer Advocacy: Provide feedback to internal teams about customer needs, market trends, and competitive intelligence. Who You Are: Minimum Qualifications: • BS degree with 8+ years of experience or prior experience as an Application Scientist, Technical Support, or Technical Sales. • Passion for science and technology, proactive learner. • Ability to present technical information effectively. • Problem-solving skills and ability to develop solutions. • Experience working in a matrix organization and fostering teamwork. • Excellent time management and analytical skills. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM systems like SFDC, and Tableau. • Ability to work in the field 75% of the time and travel overnight up to 50%. Preferred Qualifications: • MS or PhD in biological sciences with 3+ years of experience. • Experience in Molecular Biology, Genomics, Cell Culture, and Immunoassays. • Experience in assay development and troubleshooting. Pay range: $102,000 - $171,100 Our ranges are based on industry data and consider factors like location, skills, and experience.
