We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Staff Software Engineering Manager to lead our Billing Platform team at GEICO. As a technology-driven organization, we're transforming the insurance landscape and looking for a talented individual to drive the technical vision of our billing platform.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering cutting-edge platforms that scale to user needs, focusing on reliability and efficiency. You will lead and manage a team of ambitious, talented engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to ensure their success. Your technical expertise and leadership skills will be essential in driving the technical vision of the billing platform, which includes a comprehensive array of components such as core billing engine, invoicing system, commissions management, collections, payment processing, CRM integration, subscription management, credit control, and dunning management, along with reporting and analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver cutting-edge platforms that scale to user needs, focusing on reliability and efficiency
  • Lead and manage a team of ambitious, talented engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to ensure their success
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership in architecture/design, vision/direction/requirements setting, and incident response processes for your team
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promoting innovation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement within the team
  • Partner with our recruiting team to attract and hire top talent and define the overall hiring strategies for your team

About You:

We're looking for a seasoned software engineering manager with a strong technical background and excellent leadership skills. You should have:

  • 10+ years of professional experience, and at least 4 years of experience managing teams that shipped large-scale applications and distributed systems
  • Proven success in recruiting and building great teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for various audiences, including leadership, users, and company-wide
  • Effective cross-functional collaboration, with the ability to think rigorously, communicate clearly, and make or coordinate difficult decisions and trade-offs
  • Technical acumen to drive clarity with staff engineers on architecture and strategic technical decisions
  • Ability to foster a healthy, inclusive, challenging, and supportive work environment

What We Offer:

We offer a competitive salary range of $150,000 - $300,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including:
