Job Summary:
We're looking for a seasoned professional to join our team as a Senior Manager, Regulatory and Government Affairs. In this role, you'll be responsible for:
- Representing Verizon's interests before state regulatory commissions and legislative policy committees in California and other states
- Developing and executing strategies to impact public policy issues affecting our business
- Coordinating outreach with trade associations, stakeholders, and community leaders to advance our priority issues
- Testifying before state regulatory commissions and managing subject matter experts as needed
- Collecting, analyzing, and preparing data to inform our regulatory and government affairs efforts
- Ensuring compliance with state and federal laws and regulations
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- 6+ years of experience in regulatory and government affairs, preferably in the communications, cable, or utilities industries
- Knowledge of public policy issues, including pricing, competition, and service quality
- Strong advocacy, negotiation, and communication skills
- Ability to navigate complex problems, build consensus, and collaborate on solutions
- Unwavering commitment to ethics and legal compliance
Preferred Qualifications:
If you have the following, you'll be an even stronger candidate:
- Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Public Affairs, or a related field
- Experience working at the California Public Utilities Commission or other state or federal regulatory agency
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
