Academic Support Opportunity: POOL - SELF Program Tutor at the University of Kansas
Empower Students to Succeed as a POOL - SELF Program Tutor at the University of Kansas, located in Lawrence, Kansas. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a POOL - SELF Program Tutor, providing academic support to SELF Fellows in various engineering courses. As a tutor, you will play a vital role in helping students achieve their academic goals and succeed in their studies.
This part-time, temporary position offers a competitive salary of at least $10.00 per hour, depending on qualifications, and a flexible schedule of less than 20 hours per week. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide ongoing tutoring support to SELF Fellows in assigned courses, including Statics, Dynamics, Thermodynamics, advanced programming courses, and others
 - Work with students to identify areas of improvement and develop strategies for success
 - Maintain a consistent weekly schedule and be available to tutor during both fall and spring semesters
 
Requirements:
- Must have taken the classes in which you are tutoring (or their equivalents) and have passed with a grade of B or better
 - Minimum cumulative KU GPA of 3.0
 - Excellent communication skills, professional demeanor, patience, and fluency in the English language
 - Ability to work a consistent weekly schedule
 - Enrolled in at least 6 credit hours during the semester term of the appointment (or meet one of the alternative enrollment requirements)
 
Preferred Qualifications:
- Have taken the classes in which you will be tutoring (or their equivalents) and passed with a grade of A
 - Proficiency in multiple subjects
 - Prior experience in tutoring, teaching, or coaching
