Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Remote Vision Support Teacher to join our team, providing essential education services to K-12 students with visual impairments. As a Remote Vision Support Teacher, you will be responsible for:
- Conducting remote vision assessments to identify student needs and develop personalized learning plans
- Designing and implementing accessible lesson plans and materials to promote student engagement and academic achievement
- Teaching Braille, low vision strategies, and technology skills to empower students with the tools they need to succeed
- Collaborating with school staff to integrate supports into the curriculum, ensuring a cohesive and supportive learning environment
- Reporting student progress to parents and administrators regularly, providing timely feedback and guidance
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education for the Visually Impaired from an accredited institution
- Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with students with visual impairments, with remote teaching experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and orientation and mobility strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage students and collaborate with school teams remotely
- Proficiency in using tele-education platforms and technology for remote service delivery
