As a Netflix Tagger, you will be part of a team that builds products to assist Netflix in planning, spending, and accounting for content generation. Your primary goal will be to provide accurate planning of our content budget, help production houses manage their production budgets, and reduce risks related to reporting content spend. You will work cross-functionally with engineering, product, design, and business partners to build solutions for their needs.
To be successful in this role, you should have a strong foundation in software engineering fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and design patterns. You should be curious about business processes and systems outside your area of focus and understand how data and events can be shared across distributed systems. You should also be an advocate for machine reliability, test coverage, and data accuracy.
Your responsibilities will include designing and building structures and services for Netflix's content finance using Java, handling complex architectural issues with simple and intuitive design, and working at all levels of the software development lifecycle. You should have excellent communication and collaboration skills, be a great listener, and be empathetic towards your users' needs.
We are looking for candidates with at least 3+ years of server-side software development experience with Java or other object-oriented languages. You should have strong verbal and written communication skills, experience with design and ownership of business tools and systems, and the ability to thrive in a cross-functional environment. Familiarity with microservices architecture, relational database technologies, and cloud-based programs is also desirable.
