We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Professor in Theatre and Dance: Stage and Screen Writing to join our dynamic team at Florida Atlantic University. About the Position:
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, mentoring, and contributing to the creative and scholarly research of our department. You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of students, from undergraduate to graduate level, and contribute to the development of our curriculum. Your expertise in stage and screen writing will be invaluable in shaping the next generation of theatre and dance professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Teach a 3/2 load with release time for research and creative activities
- Mentor and advise students in our theatre and dance programs
- Contribute to the development of our MFA program in Writing for Stage and Screen
- Collaborate with our on-campus professional company, Theater LAB
- Participate in curriculum creation, recruitment, program promotion, and university service
Requirements:
- MFA in Theatre or Film/TV Production (Playwriting or Screenwriting preferred)
- Extensive professional experience in writing for the stage and/or screen
- Experience teaching at the collegiate level (minimum three years desirable)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
