Instructor or Assistant Professor - Human Services (9-Month)
Job Summary:
Join our team at Blue Ridge Community College as an Instructor or Assistant Professor in Human Services! We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced educator to lead our Human Services Associate in Applied Science degree and related career studies certificate program. As a key member of our faculty, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on students' lives and contribute to the college's mission of providing high-quality education and workforce training.Responsibilities:
- Teach Human Services, Mental Health, Psychology, and Sociology courses
- Coordinate and supervise student internship experiences
- Foster relationships with area Human Services Agencies
- Program assessment and curriculum development
- Assist with onboarding, training, mentoring, and management of adjunct instructors
- Provide advising and support to students
- Participate in scholarly and professional activities
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Counseling, Public Health, or a related discipline
- Associate's degree with demonstrated competency also considered
- Minimum of two years' related occupational experience
- Demonstrated dedication to teaching and commitment to the community college mission
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in a related discipline
- Community college or university teaching experience
- Course work or experience in adult development or gerontology
- Supervisory experience
- Experience delivering online instruction
