High School Social Studies Teacher - Remote Opportunity in the USA

As a Social Studies teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the minds of our students, helping them understand the complexities of global and national social issues, and preparing them to become active citizens in an increasingly interconnected world.
Job Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated and passionate educator to teach social studies, history, geography, American government, political science, or humanities to secondary pupils. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to create engaging lesson plans, deliver instructional activities, and assess student performance. You will be responsible for creating a positive educational climate, promoting student learning, and meeting course and school-wide student performance goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instruct students about global and national social issues, emphasizing geographical, historical, cultural, and political factors that influence the development of world regions.
- Lecture on the operation of political and economic systems, and teach courses in social studies, history, geography, American government, political science, or humanities.
- Create instructional resources, plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Assess student performance, maintain accurate records, and provide constructive feedback to support student growth.
- Participate in ongoing training sessions, stay current with best practices in education, and integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement, respect, and empathy.
Requirements:
- Valid teaching certification in Social Studies or related field (Alaska Teacher & Personnel or KSD Certified application preferred).
- Strong knowledge of social studies, history, geography, American government, political science, or humanities.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and parents in a remote setting.
