We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Occupational Therapy Assistant Program, Assistant Teaching Professor of Occupational Therapy to join our team at Penn State Mont Alto. As a core member of our faculty, you will play a vital role in leading our Occupational Therapy Assistant Program, teaching courses, and contributing to the academic, administrative, and service missions of the university.

This is a full-time, term, multi-year position with a 42-week contract, beginning January 24, 2024, or as negotiated. We offer a competitive compensation package and a dynamic work environment that fosters professional growth and development.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct and manage the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program, ensuring compliance with accreditation requirements set forth by The Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE)
  • Teach assigned courses within the program using traditional, hybrid, and online methods
  • Participate in administration, student advising, career guidance, National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) OTA exam preparation, and licensure processes
  • Engage in campus, college, university, professional, and community service activities
  • Participate in professional development activities to stay current in the disciplines and teaching in the higher education environment

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of two (2) years of full-time academic appointment in higher education, with significant teaching, learning, advising, management, and experience with occupational therapy assistants
  • Hold Post-Professional OTD for a minimum of two (2) years from a regionally accredited body recognized by the USDE, or other related doctorates
  • Minimum of five (5) years of full-time equivalent practice as an occupational therapy practitioner, with experience in pediatric and/or mental health settings
  • Current certification by NBCOT, licensure to practice as an occupational therapy practitioner in Pennsylvania, and membership in the American Occupational Therapy Association
  • Demonstrated competency with Microsoft Office 365 Application Suite, organizational, interpersonal, problem-solving, and counseling skills
