AmeriCorps Program Coordinator (New York)

Join Reading Partners as an AmeriCorps Program Coordinator and make a meaningful impact in the lives of elementary-aged students across Harlem, South Bronx, Lower East Side, BedStuy, and South Jamaica Queens. As a key member of our team, you will lead the coordination, operations, and relationship development of our one-on-one tutoring programs.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the full-time coordination and operations of Reading Partners' tutoring programs at a school partner.
- Coordinate the day-to-day operations and schedule of Reading Partners' tutoring programs to ensure the program meets students' learning needs.
- Provide ongoing tutoring to students and manage student and tutor data records.
- Track student progress and provide direct technical support to students and volunteers.
- Forge and maintain positive relationships with students, families, tutors, and school staff.
- Lead family, student, and volunteer engagement support within your reading center.
- Motivate students in their learning journeys and manage student behavior.
- Guide, coach, and provide feedback and ongoing support to volunteer tutors.
Requirements:
- Possess a high school diploma or GED.
- Hold US Citizenship, Permanent Resident Status, or are a US National.
- Have not completed more than three (3) prior AmeriCorps or VISTA service terms.
- Understand this position is an AmeriCorps service commitment and are dedicated to successfully completing a full term of service.
- Pay strong attention to detail and manage competing priorities effectively.
- Be open to learning technology systems like Salesforce, Google Apps, and Zoom Conferencing.
What We Offer:
- Living allowance of $19,670.24 (paid twice per month).
- Education award of $4,826.50 after successfully completing your service term.
- Mid-year bonus of $375 and an end-of-year bonus of $2,500.

Service Details:
- Full-time service term from September/October/November 2023 through May/June 2024.
- Commitment of 1,200+ hours.
