We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated professional to provide support services to students in need of academic intervention. As a Fed Pro Tutor Advisor - FIT Advocate, you will play a vital role in identifying and supporting students who require extra help to succeed in their academic journey.
Job Summary:
Under the supervision of a certified teacher or administrator, you will provide academic support and advocacy services to out-of-school youth and students experiencing homelessness. Your primary goal will be to help students overcome barriers to education and achieve academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and support out-of-school youth and students experiencing homelessness
- Provide academic tutoring and intervention services
- Compile and maintain accurate student records
- Conduct parent involvement activities and communicate with families
- Coordinate with teachers, administrators, and other support staff
- Conduct progress monitoring assessments and maintain accurate data
Requirements:
- Completed two years (48 semester credits) of study at an institution of higher education or associate's degree
- Ability to maintain effective communication with students and staff
- Ability to carry out and evaluate student achievement
- Demonstrate adequate level of instructional technology skills
- Experience and training working with children with diverse backgrounds in an instructional setting
- Highly Qualified status as defined by No Child Left Behind (NCLB)
