About the Role

The Chief Estimator will be responsible for leading all aspects of estimating for complex and large-scale projects, including pre-construction, hard bids, negotiated bids, budgets, general conditions, systems studies, and value engineering. You will build strong relationships with clients, designers, and subcontractors, and facilitate collaboration amongst team members to ensure seamless project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the estimating process, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and client satisfaction
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, designers, and subcontractors to understand their needs and expectations
  • Facilitate collaboration amongst team members, including Assistant Estimators, MEP Estimators, and Career Start team members
  • Prepare in-house budgets, GMPs, quantity take-offs, and cost comparisons
  • Conduct value engineering, risk analysis, and constructability reviews
  • Manage Subcontractor solicitation and selection process
  • Ensure quality control of department bids and estimates

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in Estimating or equivalent
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and estimating software such as Timberline, OST, MC2
  • Strong understanding of market conditions and their influence on pricing
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
